Big Canoe Homeowners Association to Host Candidate Forum

The Big Canoe Homeowner’s Association will host a candidates’ discussion forum for 9th District Congressional candidates from 7:30 until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11. at the Big Canoe Chapel.

Nathan Deal, a gubernatorial candidate, vacated this congressional seat and in the run-off election Tom Graves, the current incumbent, was elected to complete Deal’s unexpired term, which ends January 2011.

The Primary on July 20 will determine which of the following candidates will represent their respective political parties in the Nov. general election: Tom Graves (incumbent) or Lee Hawkins, Republican; Steve Tarvin or Bobby Reese, Democrat.

The forum will have a structured question and answer format on current topics including healthcare, jobs, taxes, spending, energy and immigration and other topical issues.
