The Terraces Amphitheater at Big Canoe-The Return-Beatles Tribute May 12, 2012

The Terraces amphitheater on Steve Tate Rd in Marble Hill will present The Return-Beatles Tribute band on May 12, 2012. The Return, which was named as the official band of the Atlanta Braves, is one of the best Beatles tribute groups in the country.

Tickets are $15 advance, and $20 at the gate, children under 13, accompanied by an adult are free. Advance tickets can be bought online at BigCanoeChapel.org via PayPal. Big Canoe Weddings at the Big Canoe Chapel

The beautiful  Big Canoe non denominational  Chapel, a favorite place for weddings, will be accepting reservations for wedding dates  from Chapel members starting August 1. Martha Ann Brooks to play at the Terraces amphitheater at Big Canoe

Saturday July 30 at 7:30 PM, the Terraces amphitheater at Big Canoe will present Martha Ann Brooks and her Nashville band who will entertain you with folk, blues, country, and classic rock. Martha Ann, who  has been nominated by the Atlanta Society of Entertainers for Female Vocalist of the Year,  is currently listed as the #1 folk artist in Chattanooga. Two of her songs were number one on Neil Young’s web site, one for 10 consecutive weeks. Come relax and dance under the stars in the mountains of Big Canoe near Jasper and Tate, GA.

4th of July Fireworks on Lake Petit in Big Canoe

The 4th of July is always time for celebration in Big Canoe with a salute to our military service people both current and past at the Terraces amphitheater on Saturday night and many other activities for homeowners and guests.The holiday ended with a fireworks display from the dam on Big Canoe’s  Lake Petit. Harvard Report Says Housing Shortage Is Coming

Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies in its latest annual “State of the Nation’s Housing” report says that within the next decade, 16 million new housing units will be needed to meet population growth and shifting demands

Household growth, which has dropped drastically in recent years, will be the key component in a housing shortage.  From 2007-2010, household growth decreased to about 500,000 per year which was less than half the 1.2 million annual increase averaged prior from 2000-2007.

Big Canoe Swimming Lesson

The gosling that appeared in an ealier photograph by Big Canoe resident Jim Tanner has ventured into Lake Petit for a swim with his siblings.Big Canoe resident, Jim Tanner, continues to capture the progress of the goslings at Lake Petit with this new picture. The three siblings have ventured into the water for a swim and will soon be taking flight over the mountains. Wonder if they know how lucky they are to call Big Canoe home,

Moody’s Report Says Real Estate Prices to Bottom in 2012

According to Moody’s Analytics and Fiserv, Inc, price declines will end and average U.S. home prices will stabilize in some areas by Labor Day. According to the study, prices in some of  the hardest-hit markets will start to level by the end of 2012. The prediction was based on home price trends in 375 markets around the county that are tracked by the FiservCase-Schiller Indexes.

The Fiserv report states  that home prices have fallen to pre-bubble levels, creating affordable housing relative to income which, coupled with a gradually improving economy, will bring an end to price declines.
