Saturday July 30 at 7:30 PM, the Terraces amphitheater at Big Canoe will present Martha Ann Brooks and her Nashville band who will entertain you with folk, blues, country, and classic rock. Martha Ann, who has been nominated by the Atlanta Society of Entertainers for Female Vocalist of the Year, is currently listed as the #1 folk artist in Chattanooga. Two of her songs were number one on Neil Young’s web site, one for 10 consecutive weeks. Come relax and dance under the stars in the mountains of Big Canoe near Jasper and Tate, GA.
Big Canoe Terraces 4th of July Celebration
The Big Canoe Independence Day weekend blasts off Saturday July 2 at the Twilight at the Terraces summer concert series featuring the Atlanta Concert Band.
The Band ,directed by Paul Scanling, son of Big Canoe resident Fred Scanling, will bring 60-70 musicians to the Terraces to kick off the July 4th celbration with rousing patriotic music. Wear your red, white,and blue for what should be a fun filled evening. Tailgating will start about 5:30pm with the option of purchasing food catered by the Big Canoe Sconti clubhouse or bringing your own picnic dinner. Lawn chairs or stadium cushions are recommended to insure a comfortable evening. The concert will start in the Terraces amphitheater at 7:30pm.

Von Grey to Play at Big Canoe Terraces Amphitheater
The Von Greys, four young sisters playing folksy, bluesy, and soulful music, will be playing the Terraces Amphitheater in Big Canoe at 7:30 Saturday June 11. Advance tickets for the concert are available for $15.00 by going to www.bigcanoechapel.org, click The Terraces link. Tickets will also be available at the gate on Saturday night starting at 5:30 p.m. for $20.
The Clubhouse at Big Canoe’s Lake Sconti will be catering this concert with an all inclusive [$8.00] BBQ Pork Sandwich, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw and Iced Tea. Individually wrapped cookies or brownies and soft drinks will also be available for purchase or you can bring a picnic dinner and tailgate.
Trout in Big Canoe’s Lake Petit
Although many streams in this North Georgia mountain area are designated trout streams, the Big Canoe property owners association gives Lake Petit and local fishermen a little help by stocking it with rainbow trout.
On June 13, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., 500 pounds of rainbow trout will be released into Lake Petit. Fishing experts will be there to talk about how to catch them and Terry Bramlett of Bramlett Trout Farms will also demonstrate how to fillet and cook trout. Terry will then serve the trout with potato and macaroni salads. Come to the Big Canoe marina and join the fun.
