The Big Canoe Independence Day weekend blasts off Saturday July 2 at the Twilight at the Terraces summer concert series featuring the Atlanta Concert Band.
The Band ,directed by Paul Scanling, son of Big Canoe resident Fred Scanling, will bring 60-70 musicians to the Terraces to kick off the July 4th celbration with rousing patriotic music. Wear your red, white, and blue for what should be a fun filled evening. Tailgating will start about 5:30pm with the option of purchasing food catered by the Big Canoe Sconti clubhouse or bringing your own picnic dinner. Lawn chairs or stadium cushions are recommended to insure a comfortable evening. The concert will start in the Terraces amphitheater at 7:30pm.
Once again, The North Georgia Veterans Group will be taking collections as you enter the terraces and will also pass the hat during intermission for donations to support the USO. They have collected over $2500 in past years at the 4th of July event and hope to top that figure this year. The donations are an easy tax deduction, if you bring a check made out to the USO.
Big Canoe Terraces tickets are available by going on-line to bigcanoechapel.org, and clicking the terraces link. You can pay by pal pal or credit card on-line. You may also leave your checks in the Terraces Amphitheater “A” box, with details about tickets requested and your name, your tickets will be available at will-call the night of the concert. Pre-concert ticket price is $15.00, $20.00 for walk up tickets. Children 12 and under are free.
Give me a call if you have any further questions about the concert. Hope to see you there.
